The farmers of Kookalthorai, as you’ve seen, have been using chemically germinated seeds for a faster harvest of vegetables and also use a lot of chemicals on their farmland to get a good yield. This way the farmers are assured of a return of investment, there is no loss. The chemically produced harvest ends up on our plate. The farmers are unwilling to shift to organic farming as they claim the harvest isn’t good and they will end up in losses.
